You will fi nd information on all our programs in the Spring Calendar that appears in the back of this NEWSLETTER. However, I would like to highlight the following events.

First. We will hold the programs “de rigueur” such as the Orientation Program, the Income Tax, Social Security, and Employment Workshops, designed to provide information on these subjects to international students, scholars, and the campus community.

PIC1Second. I would like to encourage all members and friends of Gamma Lambda chapter of Phi Beta Delta the honor society for international scholars to attend the Scholarship Banquet scheduled for May 11, 2005 in the Upper Commons. This event will showcase the recipients of this year’s scholarships and acknowledge the generous individuals whose contributions make these awards possible.

Third. Through the Latin American Studies Minor Program, coordinated by Dr. María Antonieta Gallegos Ruiz, professor in the World Languages and Literatures Department, we will present the Annual Latin American Studies roundtable scheduled for April 14 and 15 in the Pine Room of the Lower Commons. This year’s roundtable will feature scholars from Chile, Argentina, and Mexico as well as latinamericanists from the area. It will include other activities as art exhibits and Latin Day.
