The International Center Office (IC) at CSUSB is the primary
contact for international students including new immigrant and permanent resident
students who are nationals of other countries. The IC Office assists
students upon arrival with locating temporary and permanent housing,
provides an orientation to the community and the campus including
information about academic requirements, immigration requirements, housing,
health and support services available to the students. The IC Office also
provides programs and activities to assist students with personal growth
and development. Assistance and referrals are available for academic and
personal counseling.
The primary goal of the Office of International Center is to
assist international students to achieve their personal and professional
goals; and, therefore to promote a wide range of involvement in programmatic
activities which are conducive to their academic success, personal growth,
leadership abilities and development.
IC staff is expected to perform in a number
of ways which are consistent with our mission:
The International Center affirms its commitment to the students we serve, their pursuits, and their programs by seeking three main goals: The preparation of students to be members of a more cohesive world; the generation of knowledge on a more global orientation; and provision of its resources to the extent feasible, to nations and to institutions involved in international education. Recognizing the value to students through its international activities, the International Center wants to assist the University in achieving and maintaining a role of leadership in the international sphere.
The IC Office is currently assisting about 640 international
students from 44 different countries in the world.
