The University has short term emergency loans for international students available for financial
crises which require funds rapidly. To apply for one of these loans, go to the International
Student Services Office, who will write a letter of recommendation to the Financial Aid
Office, who in turn will, depending on availability of funds, approve the loan.
International students can work on-campus and off-campus provided they follow the
regulations stipulated by the University and the Immigration and Naturalization Service. Please consult a
counselor at the IC office for details on each category.
There are departmental Assistantships for graduate international students. Students may
be hired as tutors, research assistants, graduate assistants, etc. Students will be
considered for Assistantships only after they have proven their academic ability at CSUSB.
Under certain circumstances students may request to pay for their fees at a later than
the scheduled date. IC will make written recommendation to the Accounting Services Office
after reviewing proof of financial hardship.
